Inktober1

Inktober 2020 Day 1

I decided to start out One Ink Drawing a Day INKTOBER with an extension of the fine art I’ve been producing lately. I normally do a detailed pencil drawing as part of my watercolor painting process. Here, I inked one of those pencil drawings.

Making black and white lines to represent something is more tedious than swishing color on paper, but it helps me examine the subject matter a little more intensely.
We’ll see how long this continues until I delve back into cartoons. I have been doing some cartooning recently for Knights of the Dinner Table (on their way, Jolly Blackburn!), so going back and forth between watercolor, line art and cartooning will keep me busy this month.

I did this one in my daily sketchbook (Bee Pen Sketcher) with a Micron PN (for plastic nib). It’s a very nifty drawing tool.

Y’all be safe and keep sane
