Feeling back to normal is nicely conducive to my painting and just making art in general. I’ve got three other projects in the (Edward) hopper right now, just finished two paintings and have two more underway.
I’m mixing up my approach with these four paintings. I’m finding that working on a “loose” painting and a detailed painting at the same time cleanses my artistic palette as I switch back and forth. It feels nice to be able to try this and it seems to be working out ok.
This particular piece is taken from a photo I took of Kuerner’s Hill in Chadds Ford, PA. Andrew Wyeth painted thousands of works at this farm and it’s fun to put my spin on a place he loved so much.
9.5″x13.5″ on 300# Arches cold press with good ol’ Winsor & Newton watercolours.
Hang in there, everyone!
