Inktober 24: Day 24

Cool story about this (well, at least for me). I borrowed a photo from one of the Miller Beach pages that showed this Indian bust cemented into a junk brick wall. I know exactly where this is – the SW corner of Warren Street and Lake Shore Drive.

When we were kids, Warren Street was our beach. I remember walking past this house, which was the house of Bob McGuier, who was in my Wirt 1967 class. It’s a large brick wall facing Warren Street, maybe 4 feet by 30 feet (?) made entirely from junk bricks, broken stones and concrete pieces cemented in place in the mid 1960’s by Bob’s dad. We actually watched him build this wall over the course of about three summers, I believe. And it’s still there!

Anyway, I’m going to be heading on over there soon to snap some good photos and re-familiarize my self with a real work of art!

My sketch tonight was done with the assist of a Winsor & Newton Drawing Pen with a .08 tip.
