OK, even though I didn’t do the ink drawing for this today, I did it 2 weeks ago, so I’m counting it for Inktober. Hey, I don’t make the rules, but, uh…well, in this case I’m just breaking these imaginary rules anyway, so neener neener.
Anyway, this is the cover for this week’s The Beacher Weekly Newspaper here in Michigan City. It was inked with a .05 Micron, painted and then inked over with several different pens.
For a while now I’ve been promising Andrew Tallackson at The Beacher my depiction of Godzilla rising up out of Lake Michigan. So, when he asked me to do a Halloween cover, it was like it was pre-ordained!
Local residents here know that the Chicago skyline is quite visible from our beach, so this just fell nicely into place. Shout outs to Japanese monsters, the MC Lighthouse and to Will Elder for his warping cartooning influence.
