I seem to have a penchant for using scenes that I’ve painted before for my ink drawings. I’m finding it interesting that some familiarity with a subject seems to make it a bit easier when drawing it with an ink line (mostly Microns here).
While it’s easier to transfer a pencil drawing into an ink one (see my light table explanation earlier) I’m really enjoying making tone with lines. It’s a whole different mindset and challenge from painting a watercolor, where you can lay down paint and let it do some of the work for you.
Inktober is helping me get back in touch with this process and I like it.
Hope y’all are doing something you like these days.
