This is an obligatory 4th of July post, with painting and commentary added.
First, the painting: I did this in a rush after viewing the Northern Lights over Lake Michigan a couple months ago. Cheryl and I took a late evening drive to Washington Park to see the lights. Our photos were kind of “MEH”, so I relied on my mental memory camera when I painted this.
The 4th of July connection is how impressive Mother Nature’s fireworks are. I’m glad I got to see the Lights.
My commentary is this and it’s about as political as I’m gonna get here. The American Economy is just fine. How do I know? Well, I’m here in my little studio at 11:30 at night, listening to a cacophony of explosions all around me. Fireworks loudly going off with no concern for people or pets, just worthless noise.
Way too many of these pinheads must have way too much money that they have to blow it (pun intended) on fireworks. Seriously? Lots of fireworks = Lots of disposable income = Great Economy.
I have spoken!
