Pandemic Painting #128

I need to step up my posting of Pandemic Paintings, so here we are with #128.

Late April and early May found me just not “feeling it” as far as doing a good painting. Producing a watercolor anymore has become even more emotional for me and I didn’t feel like I was giving it my best effort.
But over the last two weeks I’m getting my chops back, so I’ve got several decent works to show here.

This scene comes from a photo I took at Indiana Dunes National Park in late winter. When the moist sand freezes on the side of a dune, the wind off the Lake Michigan will carve the most interesting lines. It kind off looks like its been sculpted by a knife blade.

9.5″ by 14″, done with good ol’ Winsor & Newton watercolour on Arches 140# cold press paper. Some 2B pencil lines helped, too.

Y’all take care and be safe out there!
