Pandemic Painting #29

Pandemic Painting #29 shows me to continue to be in a dunes groove.

There’s always been something fascinating for me about the dunes; the color of the sky and sand, all the marram grass and indigenous plant life, the smell of the ocean-like Lake Michigan – all this has been with me since my first memories.

I’m feeling pretty good lately about finally getting my buns in gear and actually paint my dunes. Lots of solace in this activity for me, in what has become a year of inconvenience and insanity. I’m keeping my sanity in the best way I know how.

Things will get better – until then, stay safe and smart.

Oh yeah: Winsor & Newton watercolors with a touch of gouache and Inktense pencil on Arches 300# hot press paper, 9.5″ x 13″.
