Well, I may have taken this one to the point of no return, or I may need to do more to it, but I’m happy with the “so far”.
Actually, I will probably go back to most of this month’s paintings and mess around a bit. After you’ve “finished” a piece, you often find reasons to tweak it after you haven’t looked at it for awhile. But that’s in the future.
For now, I used a more square-ish photo as reference for this and elongated the composition and I’m pretty pleased with the results. I found a hunk of 300# Arches hot press in my paper stash and it holds up nicely to the scrubbing and extra washing I did. My Winsor & Newton Watercolours came through for me; I’m constantly experimenting with color mixing and high quality paint lends itself so well to that activity. 6.88″ x 10.375″ on the size.
OK, enough wrangling for an endorsement deal with paint and paper companies.
