While I need to pick up production and paint more, here we are with Pandemic Painting #56.
This scene is from some last fall photos. Just along the road up ahead is the deserted ANCO wind-shield wiper factory.
I took a hint from artist/friend Rick McCollum and did a bit of underpainting for this piece, just laying flat color into all the shape areas I had drawn. Then I came back over with washes and drybrush and it gave me the effect I wanted. I like the kind of oddball composition to this one.
Winsor & Newton paint on 300# Arches hot press. Think I’m going to stick to hot press for awhile. 7.25″ x 13″.
