Pandemic Painting #83 is a mystery no longer.
I hinted about this one a couple of weeks ago and decided to keep it under wraps until it was “officially” released as the cover to the Labor Day edition of The Beacher. www.thebeacher.com.
In July I had badgered my “Beacher Peeps” into letting me have a go at one of their holiday color covers and they were kind enough to give me a shot.
Actually, I’m a bit surprised and humbled by the nice reaction this piece has had initially. Looks like prints will need to be made.
In truth, this is more of an illustration than one of my fine art watercolors. Done on 300# hot press Arches paper, I also used Micron pens, gouache and Inktense pencils in finishing this 11.25″ x 12″ rendition of some of my favorite things about living along the shores of Lake Michigan.
Be safe this Labor Day weekend!
