Pandemic Painting #108 Take 2

Pandemic Painting #108 Take 2.
Sorry, I accidentally deleted the whole post when trying to change the picture.
Anyway, here is a painting where I borrow techniques not only from Andrew Wyeth, but from that other 20th Century master painter: Bob Ross!

This scene is from a photo I took of an old barn structure along U.S. Highway 20 outside of Michigan City. It is nicely serene and falls within Wyeth’s barn landscapes and Ross’ “happy little barns” styles of painting

I used an oil painter’s fan brush for grass and leaves; it has nicely stiff bristles that lay down paint all helter-skelter for grass, and makes for great leaves when you dab it straight down.
This was one of those pieces where I’m working away on it while singing along with the Beatles and before I know it, it’s done. Sometimes easy-peasy shouldn’t be questioned.

The Winsor & Newton boys and Mother Arches 140# cold press paper helped me out with this 8″ x 13.5″ painting.

Hope y’all are safe. Watch out for that nasty storm – thankfully it’s taking a wide berth around NW Indiana.
