Pandemic Painting #110 is yet another “experimental” piece. I use the quotations because I used a detailed drawing’s outline to define color areas, kind of like a coloring book.
Maybe it’s not so much experimental as it is a continuation of my watercolor journey.
Or maybe I’m overthinking everything. Look, painting of
sunflowers!
Iris have always been my favorite flower, but sunflowers are a close second. Starting in August, billions of sunflowers can be found in my dunes, providing nourishment for the monarchs long journey to Mexico and providing nourishment to my artistic soul.
Good ol’ Winsor & Newton watercolours on 140# Arches cold press paper did the deed here for this 9.5″ x 13.25″ piece.
Hope the sunflowers are shining where you are.
