Pandemic Painting #165. Challenge #29

Pandemic Painting #165. Challenge #29.

As noted, we spent the day at Pierogi Fest so this one is a bit late.

This scene is from my all time favorite picture I’ve taken of the dunes. It’s in Marquette Park on Miller Beach in my hometown of Gary, Indiana. (Not Louisiana, Paris France, New York or Rome…)

I believe I have painted this 8 or 9 times, maybe more. Something about this small pile of sand says everything I want from a dune: sand, sunflowers, sky – and in the non-alliterative category: lake and grass.

7.25″ x 11.5″, Sennelier watercolor hastily applied to 140# Arches cold press paper.

Feeling pretty good tonight. Hope you are too.
