Apparently, the mojo is continuing. I’ve got my paint on.
This one was taken from a photo I took and I’ve painted it a couple of times before. Every painting will be different, so I don’t mind re-exploring images I’ve already washed with color.
I did this Andrew Wyeth style; that is to say, I’m not ripping on him, but I used one of the few descriptions he gave of how he approaches a dry brush watercolor. He said he starts out all swashy and washy (my definition) to get the excitement going and then he starts in on the detail with smaller strokes, squeezing the tip of the brush until it’s almost dry. It’s almost like drawing or shading with a pencil.
So, that’s what I did here and completed this in about 5-6 hours. (Once I get going on the little details, I lose track of time). Today I listened to the White Sox and some Beatles & Stones while painting.
7.5″ x 13.5″, W&N watercolours over a water-soluble pencil drawing on Arches 140# cold press paper.
It was a good day. Hope you week is spectacular!
