With this painting, I did some negative exploring. Not in attitude, but negative painting technique.
I’m reasonably pleased with the outcome; this is one of those works where I could just doodle around with a brush for hours if I’m not careful. But I got it to a point where I liked it well enough and then I added some light green gouache to highlight select leaves for impact.
Once again I mixed my Winsor & Newton watercolor with the honey-fied Senneliers. Again, more experimenting is needed to determine if I like mixing the two. For clarification, I first painted everything with WN and then repainted areas and added the negative darks with the Senneliers.
I call this one “Green”, done on 140# Arches cold press, 9.25″ x 14.25″.
Hope y’all are doing well on a beautiful fall afternoon in NW Indiana.
