July3-23

July 3

I like to think I’ve got some painting mojo back with this one. Not that I had lost it, I had just set it aside momentarily.

Here we have my depiction of my grandfather, Herbert Benjamin Robinson relaxing (ca. 1955) in front of the house he and my grandmother Doris built on top of a sand dune in Miller (Gary) Indiana. My grandparents in that house are among the very best memories that I have. As all three are gone now, those memories will continue to be important to me.

7.5″ x 14″, done with Winsor & Newton watercolours & graphite on 149# Arches cold press paper.

Watch out for fireworks! Happy 4th!
