I’m juggling my painting with some cartoon work right now, along with some illustration work, so I’m living the dream!
The old saying “It’s a poor workman who blames his tools” could apply here, as I experimented with my Winsor & Newton colours on a Canson Watercolor Artboard with a cold press surface.
Suffice to say I dislike the surface; it appears that too much sizing on the paper does not allow for the absorption of watercolor the way that I like it. Cold press is supposed to “hold” the color, where this surface causes an active disruption of the color (it will “lift” colors when I try to glaze.)
Ok, too much technical watercolor talk, I know. I will carry on with my Arches, but I’m also in an experimental mood.
This one is 8″ x 11″.
