
One of the cool things about being an experienced watercolor painter is that you know how to just flick a brush to add detail, instead of laboring over the small stuff.
On this one, I used my #5 size Winsor & Newton No.7 sable brush to the best of its abilities: from broad washes to fine point, it is a dandy! Pricey but worth it! (Thanks, Leah Cavalier!)
I use equally expensive W&N Watercolour and Arches 140# HP paper as well. The reason you don’t use crappy materials is you never know when you’re going to hit a home run and you want the good results to last. Or make it feel important.
