Doo-doo-doo lookin’ out my back door.
The green wall that always springs up in the summer serves as a leafy, weedy wall at the back of my yard. (Ha ha: “springs” in “summer” – I crack me up!)
As it’s still hot as blazes, I sketched this from life directly onto paper, standing in the coolness of Casa Cavalier.
I had some fun with negative painting on this one, using five or six different greens to add detail. This is one of those paintings I could work on for quite a while – and might look good with tiny thin ink lines over the top of it. But that’s for another day.
Tomorrow is July 4th, the holiday that Cheryl Cavalier and I set aside to sit on our front steps, watching for errant fireworks from careless neighbors that might burn our house down!
Hope your 4th of July is spectacular!
