Pandemic Painting #48

Pandemic Painting #48 is taken from a sketch I did of an abandoned building over on Tryon Road here in the bustling metropolis of Michigan City, Indiana. This was also an Inktober drawing.

I’m enjoying painting the looseness of fall colors, pushing and dabbing and slapping down colors with an oil painter’s fan brush. I enhanced the detail on this with a Wolff’s Carbon Pencil 4B, a trick I learned from Big Time Pro Mark Schultz in my conversations with him.

9″ x 12.5″ on 140# Arches Hot Press paper, with Winsor & Newton watercolors doing the bulk of the damage, aided by the aforementioned carbon pencils.

It’s getting damned dicey out there, folks – stay safe and sound.
