While not as busy as Santa’s elves over Christmastime, I did manage to complete Pandemic Painting #54.
I call this one Portrait of a Hill. I normally don’t formally title my paintings, but this seemed appropriate. As mentioned in one of my Inktober drawings, this is The Highest Hill in Miller from my youth.
And while I used a recently taken photo as reference, this painting is 90% my memory. One of those artworks that one does to evoke strong feelings and warm emotions from many years ago.
I chose a late summer setting but maybe I’ll come back and do this in a fall and winter scenario.
My tools included good ol’ Winsor & Newton watercolors, a nifty “Lizard’s Lick” brush from Cheap Joe’s (among others). on some nice 300# Arches hot press paper.
Hope you all had as good a Christmas as you could have in these times of chaos. Hope and help is coming. Happy New Year.
