Pandemic Painting #68

In honor of NW Indiana having sticking snow as late as yesterday, here’s a snowy Pandemic Painting #68.

There are several people I know only via Facebook who post magnificent photos, of which I ask permission to paint. This one is from the lens of Miller resident Tommy Gonzales, who lives on Lake Shore Drive there.

I used only 5 colors for this one: cobalt and prussian blue, burnt and raw sienna and burnt umber. And, the white of the paper, of course. I like to think I captured the cold of a winter Lake Michigan scene; believe me, there are not a whole lot colder winds than the ones off Lake Michigan in winter!

Winsor & Newton colors on Arches 300# hot press, 10.25″ x 14.125″.
Hang in there, everybody!
