Pandemic Painting #86 here is me returning to a bit more intensity.
I was actually inspired by an Andrew Wyeth painting but changed it around considerably (like turning it into a dunes scene) and I’m fairly happy with the result.
I thickened up my watercolor considerably (less water more paint) and then just went out and bought some Winsor & Newton gouache to get the paint to overlay. For right now, I believe I’ll be mixing my transparent W&N with gouache and see where it leads me.
We’re looking at a 10.25″ x 14.25″ work here, done with the aforementioned Winsor & Newton paint on some rough 300# Arches that my artist friend Paul Ortega gave to me. The rough paper is a bit more “toothy” than cold press, but not entirely suited for the way I paint.
Hope you are all staying safe and well
