Pandemic Painting #88

Pandemic Painting #88 is finally hitting the pixelated ether or whatever this computer stuff involves. Finally got my intra-web to work, so here I am.

I did this one a couple of weeks ago and am pretty happy with the results. All the elements of this painting: sky, waves and dunes/grass were done twice. Sky was *zip first pass* *zop second pass*, ditto the waves and the dunes were laid in, then detailed with a tiny brush. I did use some gouache in the grass, but the white of the waves is the white paper. My sef-education in gouache (despite numerous James Gurney YouTubes) continues apace.

Clocking in at 9.5″ x 13.5″ on 140# Arches cold press paper, these Winsor & Newton watercolor and gouache paints continue to mystify me with their wonderfulness. I’ve got three more paintings in the hopper (or should I say wyeth?), one of which is a commission I cannot divulge just yet. But I can tell you monarchs are in my future.

Be safe, smart and strong, everyone!
