Pandemic Painting #93

Turns out Pandemic Painting #93 is being posted on yet another rainy, gloomy day. Well, it IS late October.

I suppose it’s in keeping with the day that this painting is a rainy, gloomy dunes scene. I did this as a demonstration for a watercolor class I taught earlier this week at the Michigan City Art League. Usually demo paintings don’t turn out that well, but I got lucky on this one. It’s based on a photo taken by my lovely bride Cheryl Cavalier. I added the dune grass for contrast.

The usual culprits are to blame: Winsor & Newton watercolours, with a touch of gouache on 140# Arches cold press paper, coming in at 10″ x 14.25″

Happy Halloween, y’all. I’m working on a scary monster painting right now. Don’t eat too much of your trick or treat candy!
