On a gloomy Thursday night here in NW Indiana, here’s Pandemic Painting #91, a watercolor of a gloomy old barn.
I’ve done this one seveeral times, but only portions of the side. Here’s the whole shebang, looking kind of Halloweeny in it’s bare, dry bone-ness.
I used a bit of 2B graphite and the tiniest Micron I could get (.003) to help with some of the detail. The grass was done by slapping a long-bristled rigger brush flat on the paper. A tedious but effective technique.
Mostly Winsor & Newton watercolour splashed on newly acquired 140# hot press paper, sized to 9.5″ by 13.75″.
I’ve got three more paintings underway, plus a Halloween special coming up next week.
